Asbestos inspections are performed according to the National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), as well as all applicable state and federal regulations for the site inspected. It is important to note that according to federal guidelines all buildings must be thoroughly inspected, regardless of age, for asbestos, prior to any renovation or demolition. This may be referenced in EPA Regulation. Asbestos is still manufactured and may be found in many building materials today. Useful information on currently manufactured asbestos (under item 10) can be found on the EPA’s website here, https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/documents/asbestosfaqs_0.pdf
Asbestos Inspections entail inspecting of buildings for asbestos containing material in accordance with local and state regulations. The inspection format depends on the nature of future activity, such as demolition versus renovation of a structure. This service may be incorporated into a Phase I or Phase II site assessment or other services WECI provides.
